I'd like to introduce our "Hidden Treasure" or "Japanese Gorgeous Creature", Hitoshi Ozawa. He is almost only one Action Star here in Japan; moreover, he is also a film director/producer, a screen play writer, editor and a fight choreographer.
In this film, playing a main character, he served other roles as a director, a writer, an editor. As the director, he successfully captured Vivian Hsu's lonely and complex character in the tropical Philippines.
As the actor, Ozawa's face and body were fairly deferent from any other Japanese actors who seem dull and flat. He perfectly played cold-blooded contract killer, "Joker." Good contrast with sweet, vulnerable but streetwise looking Vivian. I guess the story of this film is not logical, however, as per Ozawafs words, gjust enjoy a trip in this movie. |
