| An excellent follow-up to a classic. The second movie in the series manages to up the ante while capturing many of the tones of desperation and raw fortitude that were present in the original. In this one we see Ogami take on a mob of Kunoichi that are creepy enough that they may have migrated from some demented horror flick. And as usual he takes on assassins, ninjas, and bodyguards of all shapes and sizes. In this one we get to see another dimension of the hardcore player that Ogami Itto is. Whereas in the first one Ogami was kind of depicted as an unstoppable force of destruction or an irresistible apex predator, the second one goes the more John McClane route. This is the first time in the movie series that we see Lone Wolf taken to the brink. After numerous battles Ogami's personal injuries start accumulating and he is forced to hold it together through more lethal challenges of a higher caliber. By the end, sliced up and bloody as hell, Ogami shows why you should never fuck with a man's son and that you should never take on a man that used to be an executioner and now considers himself a demon. Pure, bad ass, slash 'em up, samurai heaven. Collect the whole series and thank God for dipping his sword in the ocean to create Japan and all the samurai mayhem that followed. Keep your blades sharp. Peace out. |

I also agree it does go Mclane route but it's still very bad ass. | JV47842 |

 | | | | To all martial arts lovers, and those who enjoy the music of the Wu-Tang-Clan: This movie is the "BOMB", no lie. Contains heavy swordplay, and was used for exerpts on the "Liquid Swords" album by the GZA. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
