TECH NOTES:
The restored image quality is excellent with strong colors and clarity, but it does have slightly low contrast. The re-mastered Mandarin audio track is presented in Dolby Digital. The musical soundtrack doesn't appear to have been tinkered with as is the case with Come Drink With Me. English subtitles contain very few typos and are easy to read, but they do have a habit of blinking once which can be a bit distracting. Extras include nice behind-the-scenes photos; trailers for Killers Clans, Hong Kong Nocturne, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, The Warlord, & Love in a Fallen City; Chinese language interviews (no subtitles) with director Chor Yuen, Cheng Lee, Yuen Hua, Wong Hop Hi, & and English language interview with critic Paul Fonoroff; color stills; poster art; brief production notes; profiles of Cheng Lee, Yueh Hua, & Chor Yuen; and finally an audio commentary by Bey Logan. Its informative, especially on each of the principle actors, but is sadly out of sync with the film by 25 seconds. |
