 | | | | TECH NOTES:
This digitally restored print features high resolution and rich colors and practically no film degradation. The Mandarin audio track has been re-mastered in Dolby Digital. The musical soundtrack appears to have been tweaked and sounds slightly better than the voices. Extras include a series of behind-the-scenes photos; trailers for The Heroic Ones, The Tea House, Killer Clans, The Price of Love, & Come Drink With Me; interviews with David Chiang (Chinese), Lily Li (Chinese), Daniel Wu, Paul Fonoroff, & Bey Logan; color stills; poster art; very brief production notes; profiles of David Chiang, Ti Lung, & Cheng Cheh; and finally an audio commentary by Bey Logan that covers Shaw Brothers, the filmmakers, stars, & an explanation of why there are so many Yuen's about. |

| Picture: A striking print that boasts outstanding colours and a wonderful range of shades. The opening, colour-filled minutes of the film are an excellent highlight, filled with very sharp reds and blues. Skin tones are realistic and add another layer of enhancement to the print. The brief night-time scenes are the print's only minor weakness as they tend to lack the clarity they deserved. Nonetheless, this is another remastered triumph from Celestial.
Sound: Mandarin soundtrack with English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles (removable).
Trailers: 'The Heroic Ones', 'The Tea House', 'Killer Clans', 'Price Of Love' and 'Come Drink With Me'.
Extras: Once again a fine batch of extras. 1. Behind The Scenes - photographs of work on the set and the cast. 2. Interviews - with David Chiang (unsubtitled), Lily Li (unsubtitled), Daniel Wu, Paul Fonoroff and Bey Logan. 3. Color Stills/Original Poster/Production notes. 4. Biography and Filmographies for Chang Cheh, David Chiang and Ti Lung. 5. Audio commentary by Bey Logan. |
