| NOTE: This review refers to the VCD version of this film.
She is an assassin, she's been hired to take out local Triad bosses. But this conflicts with the RHKPD, who are trying to get the Triad bosses, stakeouts.
After killing one of the Triad bosses. Cat attracts the attention of local police officer John. John starts to tail Cat, following all over town He finally gives up cause she constantly disappears. But John has started to intrigue Cat, so she decides to follow John around.
This eventually leads to a doomed romance, when Cat is arrested by police on John's yacht.
I wasn't really expecting much from this film, and I didn't really get anything from it. Sure I got to see Almen Wong (Cat) in her underwear, some alright fighting scenes, and some good gunplay but it just didn't deliver on the "I care about these characters" level.
If the movie spent an extra 20 minutes developing the characters, I would have felt something for them. Other then Michael Wong (John), who I felt a little sorry for, there's nothing.
One thing that really made this movie hard to watch was the subtitled VCD I got, I don't blame my supplier for that. Michael Wong's character is an English speaking officer, and for some reason they saw fit to subtitled his talking, actually he talked very soft so you could barely hear him, and they got his subtitles wrong. They'd forget to put a word in, spell a word wrong, or put a totally different phrase in. It was bad!!
If I was asked to recommend this movie to anyone, I wouldn't. Its quite the waste of your time, unless you are absolutely hurting for a movie, then go ahead and rent it.
After watching it, the only part that I can still remember is when Cat is seducing one of the Triad bosses, while pole dancing to cheesy 70's porn music. It made me laugh so hard. |
