With little expectation, I found myself pleasantly surprised. Sausalito has adopted the romantic formula of Hollywood, and exercises them in an easy fashion, with impressive cinematography. Trained as a cinematographer, director Andrew Lau has mastered the camera works with all his soft focus, fading in and out to illustrate the intimacies and emotions. Beautiful people in beautiful costumes, set at beautiful places, the success of Pretty Woman also owed to these factors.
