| This film was rushed out shortly after the famous case it was based on, in which some criminals imprisoned, brutalized, killed, and allegedly ate parts of a woman, leaving her skull stuff in a Hello Kitty doll. What is actually shown is not as horrific as films such as "Untold Story," but it managed to earn a category III rating in spite of this.
On a side note, Sanrio Corporation stressed that it would not tolerate use of their products in the film. Chan Chi-Shun, the producer of HUMAN PORK CHOP, was unfazed by the statement. Chan: "I won't change the script because of the statement. That's the business. Everyone know already that the criminals used their doll to hide part of the body. If we didn't have that in our film, people will say we are not being realistic. It would be like not using a car in a movie about car accidents because car makers threaten to sue us. Oh well, we'll just let nature take its course." |
