 | | | | A generic story that is uplifted by a spectacular finale. I can't say enough about the finish to this film. It's vivid and insane, whoever crafted that inferno is brilliant. It is shot beautifully. To see the fires rippling across the ceilings and engulfing various objects is amazing. This is one of those films (like with classic martial arts movies) where the lack of "special FX" leads to some amazing effects. The filmmakers really crafted something to behold. I don't like to recommend films that only have one thing to offer, but the finish to this movie is just so satisfying I think people should give this film a shot. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Basically, it seems at times that this movie is an Asian attempt at a remake of "Backdraft". While not as spetacular as "Backdraft", Lifeline's director Johnnie To does manage to pull off some pretty amazing fire sequences. All the actors do an amazing job with their roles, as well.
If you're a fan of To's work then I would highly recommend this flick (espesially for discount the price that HKFlix sold it for). | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
