"Fall Guy" depicts the inside story of a film studio in a comical touch, where a nearly has-been movie star takes full advantage of an adoring fan. At times moving, funny, and romantic, "Fall Guy" is directed by Japanese cult filmmaker Kinji Fukasaku, who made the highly controversial "Battle Royale" in 2000. Fukasaku is well-known for his yakuza series "Battles Without Honour Or Humanity" (AKA "Yakuza Papers") in his home country. "Fall Guy" marked his first attempt in melodramatic comedy and was hugely successful both critically and at the box office.
