 | | | | I was hoping that this film would be in the vein of AZUMI, but it was not. It was too dark, too futuristic, and it tried to blend the past with the future, which did not work. If you're looking for something similar to AZUMI, this is not it. Get AZUMI 2 instead. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | ...Don't waste your money like me on a crappy movie like this again! There are so many movies with much better acting, story, and action than this rubbish. Take my advice, if you are looking for a movie with cute girls, lots of blood and a interesting storyline, get – “Azumi”! You will thank me for that! | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | One of the better martial arts action films I've ever seen. And when the action stops, the acting is strong enough to keep you interested. With remarkable cinematography, well paced editing and unnoticable wirework, this is a movie that anyone who likes well designed action should enjoy. If only it was available in North America. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Overall it was a nice movie. The choreography that Donnie Yen did was first class, loved it. The movie could have had more fights in it to make it more exciting, but I loved it a lot and it's one NOT to be missed. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | This is a hell of a martial arts movie I didn't see for years! All great acting with superb choregraphy combined with beautiful sceneries filmed in natural settings. Behind the bloody swordfights there is a poetry typical of the Japanese chambara. If you love action, martial arts and lethal romance, I recommand this movie and you won't be disappointed! | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

| I recently saw this movie at a film festival and I was so excited to see a combo of Donnie Yen's awesome action choreography with a Samurai movie. The only thing that stopped me from leaving the theater 45 mins into the movie, was two overweight dudes blocking my way to the isle. Donnie Yen's choreography was good but the camera was to busy trying to give artsy views of the shot so you don't even get its full potential and left confused and wondering "why is this person laying on the ground?" It probably would have been ok if the director would have had the excuse of spending more time on the plot. But while the story was pretty straight forward and had potential to be pretty damn good. Once again the viewer is let down with a slow paced movie and bad directing of actors that had (again) potential to do so much more. The main character was supposed to be this super assassin, but once she is in a fight she is constantly being over powered by every one. Maybe I just built this movie up too much, but I still can justify recommending this movie. I still think that the formula was good (Samurai movie with Hong Kong action) but next time the need to keep the art house crap out of the movie and let an experienced Hong Kong camera man work the directing of photography. But that's just my opinion. |
