Film Details: The Jaguar [Taiwan JY Version] DVD | Dir.: Francis Veber | Cast: Jean Reno, Patrick Bruel, Harrison Lowe, Patricia Velazquez, Danny Trejo, Roland Blanche, Francois Perrot, Francis Lemaire
URGENT NOTE: The DVD released by JY in Taiwan includes a DTS track, whereas the DVD released by Summit in Taiwan does not. Otherwise, aside from the packaging, we believe the two versions to be identical.
A somewhat slow, but nevertheless imaginative and beautifully shot, film with excellent production values. Although Jean Reno--and the entire cast--deliver solid performances, THE JAGUAR seems to be missing something that would make it a truly memorable film.
An Indian from the Amazon, his interpreter, and a dashing con artist find themselves in the same elevator at a grand hotel in Paris. At the Indian's insistence, the con man embarks on a mission that takes him on a wild adventure through the Amazon!
Overview:
Jean (Jean Reno) is escorting a South American shaman named Wanu (Harrison Lowe) on a publicity tour. While staying in a hotel, they bump into a somewhat shady businessman named Francois (Patrick Bruel) and Wanu takes an instant liking to him, insisting that they are somehow spiritually "bound" to each other. When Wanu falls ill and is hospital bound, Francois and Jean return to Wanu's tribe in South America on a quest to search for his soul, which has been stolen by an evil land developer and gangster who wants to steal Wanu's tribal lands away. While in South America on the quest, Francois finds that his spiritual tie with Wanu is stronger than he had ever imagined. But will Wanu's dying spirit be able to guide Francois and Jean through the jungle and complete their quest alive?
