| Overview: | Jazz Agers, flower children, lost generation, beatniks, rockers, punks, nerds, hackers, lovers, generation X--whatever the designation, there have always been outlaws in our society who live in pursuit of autonomy. At times they are revered for their roles as pioneers, challenging the unknown; other times people consider them lawless desperadoes and a dangerous presence. Yet, really, it is only their exuberant music and an autonomy founded to express options different from those of others that set them apart from the rest of society.
The year 2071 AD. That future is now. Driven out of their terrestrial Eden, humanity chose the stars as the final frontier. With the section-by-section collapse of the former nations a mixed jumble of races and peoples came. They spread to the stars, taking with them the now confused concepts of freedom, violence, illegality, and love, where new rules and a new generation of outlaws came into being. People referred to them as "Cowboy Bebops"...
Its name: Swordfish II--the beloved craft of Spike Spiegel. Originally developed for racing, this Mono Racer craft was rebuilt and armed for use as a high-speed combat vehicle; the improvements were conducted by the mechanic Duhan. It is the only one of its kind in the system.
Mounting the twin cannons on each of the two wings, the lower fuselage also boasts a single plasma cannon. However, this plasma cannon's power is supplied by a micro nuclear-fusion generator and consumes a great amount of energy per shot, and, as such, is incapable of rapid-fire.
The cockpit uses a mono-pod system, which contains a collection of functions--including gyro compensation, location tracker, and inertial dampers--necessary for space operation. The pod, at the same time as functioning as the cockpit, can also be used as an emergency escape pod. In order to cut down on the necessary space for storage and parking, the wings are structurally designed to be collapsible.
It has a single, onboard, large nuclear-fusion aerospike engine, plus there are booster nozzles fitted on the underside of the wings, which enable the craft to perform STOLs.
Contains Episodes 19-21.
