| Charles Band, who served as a producer on this film, would go on to great success in later years with his "Puppetmaster" series of horror films. "Dolls" was filmed at Charles Band's "Empire Pictures" studios in Italy (where he grew up), though Band would soon relocate to the USA, where he started the highly successful "Full Moon Pictures". Often working with his brother, Richard Band, who composed many film scores for him, Charles Band seems to have settled himself--and his family!--firmly into the psycho-killer-doll subgenre of the horror movie scene. The same year "Dolls" was made, he also scored a minor success with the film "Troll", which wasn't about little killer dolls, but wasn't far from it either! |
