Overview:	The "Golden Trio" of junior high school soccer players--Toshi Kenji, and Kazu--enroll at the new Kakegawa High School merely because they want to play with Kubo, the legendary player who learned his superb soccer techniques in Germany and who helped the Kakegawa team, which then consisted of freshmen only, win eighth place in the all-Japan tournament. What evolves is a touching story filled with the joys and tears of youth, featuring the first screen appearance of the enormously popular idol boy-band SMAP; plus a guest appearance of another popular dual, KINKI KIDS.
