Overview:	After being freed from colonial bondage to the UK, Burma advances into a new phase of political complexity: domestic unrest. The rebellious Karen minority group gathers their forces to fight for status as an independent state, basing themselves by the Thai-Burmese borderline of Salawin River, amid the most abundant teakwood forest in the world. When greedy capitalists are attracted to the possibility of turning the wood into profit, they offer secret support for the Karens' battle with the Burmese government. In exchange, they seek permission to log in the Karen-occupied areas of jungle. But all lives here fall under the same law: the law of the gun. Winner of best picture, director, sound, actor, and editing at the Thailand Film Awards.
