| I'm unsure of how to give one rating for two films, but here goes.
"5 Venoms Vs. Wu Tang" has neither the Venoms nor any Wu Tang stylists to speak of. Instead it is about the kidnapping of a baby jiangshi, or Chinese vampire/hopping zombie. This movie seems like it is an unofficial "Mr. Vampire" sequel, and it is terrible, hence why I enjoyed it so much.
"Venom Warrior", on the other hand, does have at least Chin Siu-Ho, of later Venoms fame (I think that's him at least, sorry for any innaccuracies!). This movie is the worst. The lead, Siu-Hou, is a "dancer", but instead of dancing he does acrobatic gongfu like barrel kicks with a twist, tornado kicks, spinning multiple leg sweeps, etc.; and all the other characters are always saying things like "oh look at him doing his weird dance" when the movements are obviously martial and are not to the beat of whatever music is playing. To make matters worse, it's set in a 20th century timeline, with gangsters and guns, culminating in a movie that was hard to watch, even for me. I barely was able to finish this film once, and I'll watch anything! |
