There's supposed to be a place high in the mountains that men never return from. Oh, they're told that something horrible and certainly fatal goes on up there, but few believe it. The legend usually goes that there is a cursed place in the peaks where a demoness waits for unwary men, and that their fate is sealed when she sees them. Legends are, of course, mostly fiction and the mountain pass seems a convenient one, so there are always some who will take it. However, most legends sometimes contain an element of truth, and some legends quite a bit more than others. It is, after all, just a story to frighten the out-of-towners--right?
