A great kung fu flick, a wild action battle at the Shaolin Temple.

Not a bad indie effort. Kind of a shame that nobody really knows the name of the main actor in this movie. Lots of solid action throughout.

A young man is entrusted with the golden seal but is almost killed by the Chings. A family nurses him back to health but then they fall victim to the bad guys and he is off to Shaolin temple to learn kung fu and one day take revenge.

The love story angle is a bit weak (really not even needed) and the bits with the drunk/crazy monk could have been developed alot better. However, it's a solid movie all around. I'm real curious if the editing of this movie was intentional as the beginning has a replaced title card then jumps right into the credit sequence where they name off production people (no cast members). Then at the end it plays what appears to be the credit sequence that should have been done in the beginning, and then we get a THE END. Either way it's a bit strange.

Yi agree especially with the love story comment1MAFRK166
YYou have unusual taste in kung fu like me. It's a compliment the main evil charcter in this one is the same guy in Shaolin Vs Lama which he was an ultimate bad guy but your right I agree with the stars.Kung Fu Classic Viewer

Excellent movie. I loved the story from beginning to the end. I loved the fight scenes and the 13 Monk Pole Formation. I recommend this movie as a must-see. I give this movie 4 1/2 stars for sure.

This is an old, somewhat gritty production, but I love it! It's got incredible fighting by (a sober) Mark Long, in particular, as the Abbot. Good training sequences, too. Good for those like me who never tire of flicks where the monks aspire for peace but can seriously throw down when it's called for.

This is a great film. I'd never heard of it up until about one month ago. I heard Venoms Chiang Sheng and Ricky Cheng were in this film. Later I saw it starred Alan Hsu ("7 Grandmasters", "Kung Fu Vs. Yoga"). I love this guy--he is a great acrobat and is great in this film. Also the action directors were Ricky Cheng and Robert Tai, stuntman Wong Chi Sang ("Fearless Hyena", "Shaolin Vs. Ninja"). The film reminds me of a cross between "Rebellious Reign" (which also starred Alan Hsu) and "Shaolin Vs. Lama" (which stars Alex Lo Rei). The fights are very good, and the main character--sorry to say I don't know who he is--is very talented. The story is simple: a soldier for an anti-government organization steals a special seal, running to take refuge in Shaolin temple. Also stars Mark Long ("Mystery Of Chess Boxing", "Ninja Hunter") and Chi Kai as a drunken monk.

This film is definitely worth the money, it's a lot of fun, with good acting and even better fight scenes. My only complaint: Ricky Cheng and Chiang Sheng should have had bigger roles; but their fight scene is one of the best in the movie.

I honestly think this film is better then Jet Li's Shaolin Temple. It came two years before it and its leading man surpasses Jets ability. It also stared Wong Chi Sang who was the action director Joseph Kuo's classic Mystery of Chess Boxing. There's no background info on who action directed it but my guess would Wong Chi Sang and Ricky Cheng Tien Chi.

As far is the story goes its story, It starts of the main character (sorry don't know his name) who is trying to protect the Royal Seal n which the Ching government use to have. He fails and is saved by woman whop he falls in love with. With the unsuccessful attempt of the Ching government getting the Seal they called forth the destruction of the Shaolin Temple. The main character then vows to become a monk and protect the Seal and the Shaolin Temple and that's not all....

The crazy drunken monk in the cave sequence was one of the best portrayed in the genre. The action was also excellently executed and a little faster then usual. This film is worth a good look. You shouldn't be disappointed

School Grade 88% Worth a good look.
