| 'The Fruit is Ripe' is considered to be the third and final installment of the series. The previous two are 'Crazy Love' (1993) and 'The Fruit is Swelling' (1997). Both 'The Fruit is Ripe', and 'The Fruit is Swelling', in fact, have the same director and actor Wong Shu-kei. This time they found 18-year-old Taiwanese beauty Fong Ching as the sex object (18 years old and a 36D chest)...touted to be the next Chung Chun (also from Taiwan).
A nude and naive angel named Peach comes to Hong Kong to help out a fish farmer called Urchin. The guy's in a fix: he's much in love with his childhood sweetheart who in turn is married to a philandering creep. Urchin needs help to say the "love" word to snare his woman, but the busty new angelic helper becomes too much of a distraction.
The abundance of love scenes seems restricts the development of the plot which is somewhat typical and simple. As a Category III movie, 'The Fruit is Ripe' generally fulfills its function.
