Very much in the vein of "Mr. Vampire". Having Ricky Hui playing almost the same cowardly second fiddle in the movie really helps hammer that point home. It is more buddy cop comedy than horror movie, but that isn't exactly a bad thing. I would have liked it a little bit more if they actually spent more time in the "Haunted Cop Shop" rather than everywhere else in town. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love "Mr. Vampire", and this has the same spirit, and that is plenty good for me. |
