Since this film is so incredibly awesome, and so historically important, we have to strongly recommend the special edition available from The Criterion Collection. The HK version may suffice if you do not want to shell out the large sum of money for that version; but this double-sided DVD from Mei Ah has much worse picture quality, poorly translated subtitles, and must be flipped over in the middle of the film. Whatever you decide, make sure you see this film one way or another, it truly is brilliant.
