This action-packed film features Shao Bing and Xu Fan, who appear to be the perfect couple: they are happily married, have a beautiful daughter, and have successful careers. Shao Bing is one of the highest-ranking pilots for Blue Sky Airlines, while Xu Fan is a head flight attendant for the same airline. However, as they struggle to balance their work schedules and care for their daughter, their relationship is often strained.

When Shao Bing is summoned to work during one of his days off, he finds himself flying the plane that Xu Fan has just boarded with her crew. Shao Bing realizes during take-off that the plane’s landing gear does not function properly, he alerts the crew and the ground staff that an emergency landing will be required. As this is the first time the airline has had to make an emergency landing, the crew, the ground staff and the passengers must work together to survive this terrifying experience.

Crash Landing is widely acclaimed as the first Chinese film that effectively used computer-generated special effects.
