ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Born in 1951, Zhang Jianya entered the film troupe of the Shanghai Film Studio in 1975. In 1982, he graduated from the Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy and went back into the Shanghai Film Studio.

His main works include: "Mr. Wang and Xiao Chen," "Challenge," "Superwoman," "Kidnapping," "Red Elephant," "Deadly Glacier," "The Tribulations of a Chinese Gentleman" and "San Mao Joins the Army".
