There's a girl brought up insulated from the world and taught to kill for the purpose of advancement of a certain church group. When she fails to kill all targets and witnesses of a hit, the last witness manages to turn this cold blooded thing into a normal loving person. The first time I saw it, it was very cool compared to U.S. films in this genre. I like the way they set up the story. It's about a woman who was kidnapped as a child and raised to become an assassin. [I was surprised] when I found out that she killed her own father when was a child and she didn't even realize it. That's not all. It gets more interesting. When she was assigned to kill the first person in the movie, the newspaper reporter followed her. The newspaper man gets caught and then when he begs her for his life, all of a sudden he starts to have sex with her before she tries to shoot, and the thing is she doesn't even kill him. It's strange, you have to see it yourself. Especially after the car chase they start having sex in open fields in green grass; but to me that was a good place to have sex and fall in love. | Another entry into the gals and guns cat 3 genre from the folks that brought you everything from guys in monster suits to epic samurai flicks. This story is about a beautiful assassin working for a religious group based in Tokyo. Shion (Makiko Kuno) is trained by a blind priest to carry out hits on folks standing in their way (generally drug lords, etc). During one such assignment Shion's handiwork is witnessed by a reporter (pics and all---he's been investigating the killings for a local press), and soon finds herself tracking this witness then falling in love with him. To make matters worse that blind priest orders her to kill the newsman but she can't bring herself to complete the task. Thus she and he are on the run with the priest and his goons in hot pursuit. Like most movies of cat 3 it's got the sex (well done, I might add, nothing graphic but more in line with R rated stuff in the US), Makiko in the buff, very bloody shootouts, and a disturbing torture scene between Shion and an electric probe (I'll let you fill in the blanks). The script is basic, easy to follow, good photography, loads of action and a VERY SEXY Makiko Kuno whose manner and movements remind me of Cynthia Khan. You'll see the influence of the Zero Women series here. Entertaining, if you like dangerous women with guns and the flair for the erotic. |
