'Love in Sampan' is a surprisingly effective erotic drama. While adhering to the demands of erotic fiction (including lots of nudity, sex scenes, and even one lesbian encounter), it still manages to provide believable characters, viable dialogue and an interesting story.
The cinematography is hardly the stuff of legend, but the film looks pretty good and never screams "low budget trash". The acting, while not top shelf, is adequate and the lead actress is surprisingly attractive despite not being classically beautiful.
If you like your erotica with more than a touch of real storytelling, 'Love in Sampan' will work for you. |
