Tailin had loved art since his childhood but when the time came, instead of entering art school, he followed in his father's footsteps and became a policeman. He's become a good policeman but his artistic feelings haven't entirely disappeared. One night on his way home, Tailin comes across a girl trying to climb the structure of a bridge. Beautiful sight, dangerous act. He rushes to stop her. She tells him that she is actually a murderer. He tells her that he is really a policemen. At the police station the girl explains that she had just been looking for new experiences, new sensations that might be of use to her professionally. She's an actress and her name is Luyun.

A few days later Luyun calls Tailin for a date and for help. She's looking for a man named Ma Baiju (white horse). He agrees to lend a hand. They begin meeting regularly and Tailin finds his old artistic feelings revived. Slowly, he begins to fall in love with Luyun, a different kind of love, poetic. It never occurs to them that Ma Baiju may be connected to a murder case that's twenty years old. As their relationship develops, Tailin begins to wonder why Luyun is so interested in finding the man...
