The print is just OK, with typical scratches, bleeding colors and over-dark. The film is letterboxed at 1:85:1 but should be at least 2:35:1. Still it's an improvement over the full-frame [VHS version] of the film. Beware: during the final climactic battle the film is missing a section (that would appear substantial). During the fight the villain goes from looking unbattered to suddenly having been savagely bloodied. No attack is seen to show this progress in the battle. Suddenly his sleeves are torn from shoulder to cuffs and splattered in blood, and then the monkey fighter finishes him off! There's no meat with these potatoes! The fight (you've been waiting for the whole film) barely starts before it's over. This problem also flaws the VHS print. It's a fun movie though with good-looking kung fu. |
