Invincible Shaolin All Content Used With Permission. ![]() Awesome movie. I love the Yong Chun Quan training sequences. I'm glad my Yong Chun training isn't as tough. ![]() Every time I see this film, I feel bad for Chiang Sheng (aka The Snake Venom) because of how badly he is outshined by the other Venoms. This is another Shaolin revenge flick with a lot of cool action scenes and training seqences. I felt that this film was more of a training movie with very brief fight scenes until the showdown in the finale. Unfortunately, the film seems to jump from one person to another at random and feels badly edited. It's good, but not their best. UPDATE: Sorry, I meant Wei Pei who was outshined, not Chiang Sheng. My mistake!
![]() Not my favorite Venoms flick. Still awesome overall. Highly recommended. ![]() One of the greatest Venoms flicks of all time. Phenomenal choreography! -Johnnie Freeze (see my profile) ![]() This is a very good glimpse of the Venoms before they officially joined up as the Venoms. The plot is nothing special, but the actors are unleashed to display their acrobatic and weapons handling talents, and the film is a great pleasure to watch. It's particularly nice to see Lu Feng in a charming, nearly romantic, nonvillainous role. -Jeffrey Frawley (see my profile) ![]() Venoms at their best. Sad ending, but great movie. ![]() ![]() I think that it was a very, very good movie. I can watch this movie over and over and never get tired of it. Great movie. ![]() ![]() A classic with the Venoms. A must-have! ![]() Though this film does somewhat lack kung fu action (only three short fights in the beginning and in the middle and a 15-minute long one at the end), I did like this one. ![]() I loved this film! We have a villainous Ching general portrayed by Wang Lung Wei, provoking a showdown between teachers from North Shaolin against teachers from South Shaolin. This film casts the original Venom Gang from the cult favorite The 5 Deadly Venoms, that started it all. The plot is good, the training sequences are great, the action is superb as we have venom versus venom for a big climatic ending. One of the Better Venom films. ![]() This is one of my favorite martial arts movies of all time. All of the actors play their roles to the fullest, and the kung fu is mesmerizing. I love watching this movie. -Warrior Cleric (see my profile) ![]() The plot is a revenge cliche. The directing is run-of-the-mill, the fight choreography is top notch. So what makes this 4 stars ? The Venoms are always pleasant to watch, with their fighting skills despite an average story line this time. At least, all the Venoms are present, something which is quite rare to find in a Venom movie. There are some dragging moments in this film where Kwo Chue, Lo Meng and Wei Pai (the southerners) go into an arduous training session. Chang Cheh seems to be focusing on the kungfu training techniques than other things. Of course, there is the finale between the newly trained Southerners and the much skillful Northerners, which ends with two of them left alive. Recommended. ![]() The pace was a little slow but the training and action scenes made up for this. A DVD worth having in your collection. ![]() One of the greates all-star old school movies you will see. Lots of fights, training and a good story. A classic in my book. ![]() I love this movie--great fight scenes. I love all the Venom films. But this is a good movie. I recommend this film. ![]() ![]() ![]() Good storyline that's easy to follow, and great kung fu, including the training technique scenes. Add a star if you're a Venoms fan. ![]() Without doubt this movie is one of the forever classics with everything that I expect from a kung fu movie. Fist to fist fights, weapons, training sequences--plenty of action. ![]() My third favorite Venom movie. I liked that the conflict of the story was based on manipulations and misunderstandings rather than good guys vs. bad guys. The only bad guy as such is the scheming general, to no surprise played by the Darth Vader of Shaw Bros. Wang Lung Wei. This movie really felt more like a Lau Kar Leung film than a Chang Cheh film to me. My biggest enjoyment came courtesy of the excellent training sequences (I'm a sucker for a good old school workout session), which actually takes up the better part of the movie, but they are done so well that it doesn't slow the movie down one bit. The fighting was awesome too, and up to the usual Venom standards. A definite must-have in my book. ![]() Love this Venoms movie. Great fights and training as well. The Venoms are in top notch form. ![]() One of the best Venoms movies! Great action. Beautiful fight choreography. Chang Cheh was at his best directing this movie! A pure delight for all martial arts movie fans. Interesting North vs South plot. What a great performance by Chiang Sheng with the butterfly poles! Very entertaining. And Wang Lung Wei is the best villain of all! -Roger Judd, Jr. (see my profile) ![]() 2nd favorite Venoms film--kick ass fights, great training scenes, a fine story, honorable characters, and classic Chang Cheh violence and blood!!! ![]() Good overall basic kung fu movie. Nice north vs. south plot--another for the classic kungfu section. ![]() This is truly a classic. The Venoms are at their peak and in true solid form in what I consider better than "The Five Deadly Venoms". Great story, great fighting. It's what a true Shaw Bros. movie is supposed to be about. ![]() This film to me is the greatest Venoms film ever. Although i now have evry Venoms film, this movie still holds up as the best.Every one of the Venoms gets a chance to shine, but of course this movie should be viewed if anything to witness the incredible Chiang Sheng.Chiang's use of the butterfly pole is incredible. ![]() This is one of my favorite films for two reasons. One is that I generally like the Venom gang films, and the other reason is that having practiced the mantis style myself for over ten years, this is one of the few films I have come across showing the southern style of mantis. The reference to eggs is more significant than many would ever know. A great film!
