Another lackluster swordplay drama about a corrupt offiicial who is trying to save his naughty son from being arrested by an imperial marshall. Polly Shang Kwan shows up several times to swing a sword around and ultra-cool Lo Lieh keeps following the marshall for unexplained reasons. Again, the majority of the film takes place in an inn, and when all hell finally breaks loose, a giant sword fight commences in the desert. Good martial arts, but not very engaging. Ms. Kwan wasn't prominent enough to keep my interest up either, which is a shame. |
