I only bought this because it had Hwang Jang Lee and Phillip Ko in it, and I really wasn't expecting much from another low budget Taiwan production... BUT, once the movie got going I was really happily surprised! First of all it is based on actual events (loosely based, I'm sure); second of all, the story was actually good and somewhat captivating; and third, the fights are pretty damn cool and innovative (although I would have liked Lee to throw his famous kicks around some more). The end fight with Lee and Ko is awesome and so is the fight with Ko and Shaw bad guy Kong Do! I'll give this movie a steady 2 out of 5. Mostly based on the fights and the fact that they managed to find some different Taiwanese locations that I havent already seen in ten other low budget old schoolers. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

Weak storyline (not very credible...). Hwang Jang Lee is OK but not spectacular here. Actually, I enjoyed Philip Ko more in this one! His fights were entertaining and he's the only one who played his character convincingly. [NOTE: This review refers to the Goose Boxer / Tiger Over Wall double feature DVD by Ground Zero U.S.] This movie is surprisingly good. I really did not expect this movie to be this good for the budget that was given to the producers to make this film. And the funny thing about my review of this film is that I originally bought this movie for Goose Boxer, and not this movie. By the way, Goose Boxer sucks hard. (A movie which is also featured on the DVD.) The only thing that was wrong with this film was that Hwang Jang Lee was actually the main character even though he was the bad guy. This movie is worth a watch despite other critic views.
