Ma's co-writers on this project have a limited number of credits. Chan Gam Kuen wrote the drama Working Class for director Tsui Hark in 1985. Chan Wing Sun recently colloborated with Ma on Feel 100% II and Horror Hotline...Big Head Monster.
In interviews, director/producer/writer Joe Ma has admitted to being unabashedly commercial in his instincts, desiring to produce films that are popular with the public. He is also quite prolific; having directed three films during 2001 (13 to date from his debut in 1992). His first credit as producer came with 1993's Chez N'Ham Story, but he really got rolling when he formed the Brilliant Idea Group (production company) in 1997. He has contributed to nearly 30 scripts in the past 14 years.
