Here's a curio from those early days when Maggie Cheung first stood in front of the camera and began that glorious road to be one of the most revered actresses in the world. I personally like to see early works of famous actors because you can appreciate how they've mastered their craft. Here is no exception. Maggie is, well, Maggie and a bit out of sorts at becoming character rather than just `acting'. Yet, even in this entertaining and fun tale she has stage presence that keeps the viewer's attention. Remember, this is only her 5th movie. She plays a naive and innocent woman caught in the middle of a terrorist plot to plant explosives in a soda can. There are some very funny moments and it would be interesting to speculate on where Maggie's career would've led had she stuck to comedy--of which she does very well. I recommend adding this movie to your collection as a representation of Ms. Cheung's work. For story, plot, production values it rates not quite a thumbs up. For the vault of Ms. Cheung's resume, two thumbs up.
