| Overview: | Knowing that he's dying from cancer, Lam feels a responsibility to come up with sufficient funds quickly so that his younger brother Wai-leong (played by Max Mok) can complete medical school. So he joins with a gang to steal some diamonds. Lam and the gangsters, led by Chiu, have a dispute; Lam manages to hide the authentic jewels before he is killed by the gang. Wai-leong is on the scene when his brother is murdered; the gang kills the actual murderer and makes it look like Wai-leong did it, and he is forced on the run.
Too late, Chiu realizes he has been left holding the fake diamonds. He sends one of his people after Wai-leong, who has teamed up with his police detective friend (played by Aaron Kwok) to search for the diamonds and clear his name. Soon enough, Wai-leong encounters a beautiful Japanese reporter (played by Yukari Oshima), briefly holding her hostage, before a tentative romance develops (that's where the test of loyalty comes in). The final fight scene is not to be missed.
