| I really must disagree a bit with the complaints made by Mark Pollard [from his review of this film]. Yes, the movie is a kung fu comedy, and at times a little too silly (its meant to be). Also, the fighting is weak and the story suffers from having neither a strong main villain nor hero. However, the flick is hysterical at times and I giggled so hard I forgave a lot of the other drawbacks. [Hey, Ku Feng plays a novel role!] This flick may not top your list, but if you love old school its at least worth seeing once. Also, you get a rare chance to enjoy a very clear picture in a widescreen format, an effort consistently made ONLY by Crash Cinema. Crash Cinema did a worthy job here, as a survey of their releases reveals that, though the movies are not all the most choice ones out there, they are at least 'decent' and priced affordably. Unlike the $15 fourth-generation full-screen VHS transfers available from other companies! Mark, this was worth mentioning along with all the bad. |
