TECH NOTES:
This version was re-titled Shaolin Challenges Ninja. The image is basically VHS quality with faded colors and low resolution. The sound quality and dubbing are acceptable. Extras include a chapter index, cast info, and scenes from Return to the 36th Chamber and Challenge of the Masters.

Following is a brief summary of the major differences between the "Shaolin Challenges Ninja" DVDs from Cadman/PanMedia and Ground Zero:

The Cadman/PanMedia version has stronger colors, whereas the Ground Zero version looks more "washed out". Both versions are cropped to full screen, and each version shows a slightly different portion of the original ultra-wide "shawscope" picture.

Each version has some footage not found in the other, mostly expository. If you're a big fan of the film, you may want to consider viewing both DVDs to see all there is to see in each version, however, for most people this is probably not necessary. We would tend to recommend the Cadman/PanMedia version, though the Ground Zero version features some nice "bonus fights" and other goodies. No matter how you view it, this film is a winner and shouldn't be missed.
