Very good movie.

I thought the story was okay and the fight scenes were very good. I was looking for a little more toughness from the villain, but overall it was a well put together movie.

Wong Tao at his best with Chang Yi as the villain. Good storyline. Excellent training scenes and great action. A true old school classic. Great Taiwanese production. Should be in your collection!

I'm split on this one. On one hand the performances of Wong Tao, Hsia Kwan lee, Kam Kong and Chang Yi are solid (Chang Yi is downright awesome). On the other hand, the excrutiatingly unfunny comedy and terrible limey dubbing [in the version I watched] almost ruin it for me. This could have been great had they stuck to the plotline and left out the comedy. Recommended only if you have nothing else to watch.

Y	I'm tempted to give this only 2 1/2 stars due to bad comedy, a wandering plot, and the abundance of ugly characters: the imbecile, the shrewish aunt, the oafish "brother." Wong Tao elevated the movie. Some good fights.	Mad Monkey

This is an excellent movie that I've not seen in years! I'm finally glad that I've got it now on DVD. An awesome film!

Wong Tao plays Chen Ku Yung, who neglects his Chen family stick kung fu for having fun. His uncle or dad challenged him for the right to learn stick kung fu. Obviously he lost, but he was sent packing without his rich family's money. He later befriends Tai Li Lei (played by Kam Kong) who calls him big brother (Dai Goh means big brother in Cantonese). Tai Li Lei wants to help Ku Yung become better at stick fighting, but they both are stuck in other people's ways. Chang Yi plays Lu Tai Yeh (who has the appearance of a typical white-haired, evil, old person with great kung fu skill) who wants to destroy all the stick kung fu schools. What happens when two ends meet? I'm sorry I cant give much away.

There is some good stick fights, but not at a fast pace like you would expect in an newer Yuen Wo Ping film. This is a great movie to learn movie stick kung fu.

You will not be disappointed if you're a Wong Tao fan. The end fight is short but a little faster.

School grade 78% worth a look.
