I loved this movie, as it shows a real-life situation of ordinary people in a real world, which lays just a few decades behind us.
I think this movie will add to our understanding of the ordeal of the Chinese people under the Japanese. For too long the Japanese have been persecuting other Southeast Asian peoples with not enough publicity and shame to them in the West.
If I want to express my feelings about the war, I will show it to anybody. It's a strong and hard movie. We see all the distress and ugliness about the hatred people. I've been shocked. The actors are very good and the pictures are beautiful (even though we see a lot of ruin and devastated area). I recommended this movie.
