HKFlix Says: 3 Stars
Though this film is fun, we feel that the amateurish direction severely diminishes its overall effect. Both of the big fight scenes were shot much too close-up to be able to really follow much; and the car races are laughably sped up. There is some real gold hidden among the pyrite, however. Jackie's martial arts performance is consistently energetic, and his trademark acrobatic escapades still wow.
Avg. Rating:
3.6 / 5 (based on 12 ratings). What did you think of it?
Plot:A psycho bad guy kidnaps and tortures Jackie's family and challenges Jackie to a race in order to free them. A couple of big fight scenes manage to squeeze their way into what would otherwise be 90 minutes of big car chases.
Overview:Agile action/comedy superstar Jackie Chan plays Jackie, a car mechanic who quickly regrets making an enemy of Cougar, a wanted psychopath. Cougar seeks revenge by kidnapping both of Jackie's sisters, and challenging him to a dangerous auto race. Jackie risks life, limb and sanity as he sets out to rescue his siblings. The film is filled with what's become expected in Chan's films: breath-taking stunts and intricately choreographed fights and action sequences, that make the impossible seem possible.
