Another disappointing effort featuring a lot of washed up HK veterans. Only the villainous Billy Chow looks like he knows what he's doing and has no trouble taking out Yuen Biao and Cynthia Khan. I now truly believe that this genre is dead. This is a low budget Filipino version of "Supercop" (even two of the villains are the same) that shamelessly steals a lot of its music from "Hard-Boiled". It's also sloppy and difficult to follow in parts. Sure, it's bad, but it's not terrible. Compared to Ms. Khan's other Filipino films, it's much better than "Yes, Madam 5" and her fighting is better than in "Angel On Fire", but production-wise it ranks about the same. And in THIS film, big important crime lords drive Toyota Corollas. |
