Plot: A high school girl is fitted with a high-powered machine gun where her arm used to be so that she can team up with a chainsaw-wielding mom to get revenge on a sinister ninja yakuza family, whose drill bras and flying guillotines won't be easy to defeat!
This film was a bit over the top for our tastes, and there wasn't too much to the story aside from the painful, gradual deterioration of the main character. Still, Watanabe's performance was very moving.

This film is beautifully shot, and features a haunting score by Kenji Kawai ("Avalon") and solid performances all around. The stand-out feature of this film, however, is the incredible sword fight choreography by Donnie Yen. Must-see material.

To be honest, we liked the Korean remake, "Ring Virus", more than this original Japanese version. However, it's still creepy and spooky and everything that a horror movie should be.
