A very odd yet effective film with prolonged slow passages that either serve to flesh out the characters or delay the action, depending on your perspective...
If more films were like this, fewer films would suck.
This film was a bit over the top for our tastes, and there wasn't too much to the story aside from the painful, gradual deterioration of the main character. Still, Watanabe's performance was very moving.
