Despite an appealing premise and some good performances, the "after school special" melodrama and hit-or-miss cast hold this movie back.
This film loses points for the implausible "adultness" of its main character, a 15-year-old girl. But if you can overlook that (if anyone can pull it off, it's Ellen Page), it's an awesome female revenge flick that rivals some of the classics, and a tour de force performance by Ellen Page.
