No one could deny that this is a landmark film, not only for Buster Keaton, but for all of cinema comedy. A riot.
The underrated Robert Forster is excellent in this fun, action-mystery with stunts galore. Michael Kamen's score is nice and funky, and helicopter pilot Chuck Tamburro's amazing flying should be instantly recognizable by anyone who's seen "Terminator 2".
This is one of the most fascinating, unforgettable, and brilliant films we've seen. Each story sticks with you like glue, and the performances by this unbelievable all-star cast are almost creepy in their realness. The "Sax Cantor Riff" segment in particular is without question the most beautiful and moving short film we've ever witnessed.
This film is almost cathartic in its viciousness, and is a very fun watch. Yes, it's highly simplistic and implausible, but look beyond that for a fantastic tale of revenge.
