An epic and classic swordplay film.
We didn't get much out of this film. A typically solid performance by Sammo, but nothing particularly noteworthy in the way of martial arts, acting, story, or action...
This amateurish film is mostly unenjoyable due to the horrible martial arts performances by everyone except Jackie. This film gets a 2, for 2 slow, 2 sloppy, and 2 boring.
A terrific example of classic "girls with guns" fare, this mid-80s actioner is loaded with the kind of fight scenes that defined the "golden era" of HK's new wave.
We were very impressed with the fight choreography in this one. The "Scorpion Technique" in particular is a blast to watch, but every fight sequence is packed with ingenuity and creative moves you haven't ever seen before!
One that's "so bad it's good", this is a Bruce Lee flick with hardly any Bruce Lee in it. And the great Yuen Wo Ping action choreography is all but lost on these performers. Nonetheless, this films a lot of fun, and is highly recommended for cheese-lovers!
