Bio: I have been collecting Foreign films for the past 23 years. My favorite of them all have been Shaw Brothers Productions. I am very happy that Celestial Pictures have been releasing the Old School Kung Fu films on DVD that I used to watch back in the 80's every Saturdays on channel 21 called "Kung Fu Theather". I prefer watching the original language with english subtitles because the english dubbed versions are so awful!. I look forward to more new releases from Celestial Pics.

Chocolate [2008] (product link)
Martial Arts / Action/Adventure

If you love Tony Jaa flix, then you're definitely going to love "Chocolate". This is a FEMALE version of Tony Jaa. Jeeja Yanin, the female star of this movie, is the next rising martial artist to arrive in the circuit. I put her in the top 5 along with Angela Mao, Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Ziyi and Bridgette Lin.

Jeeja was born on March 31, 1984. She is the first woman of muay Thai on film. Her Movie “Chocolate” (2008) is from the makers of "Ong-Bak" and "Tom Yum Goong".

Action Superstar JeeJar - Yanin Witmitanun

This is the 411 of the film:

A beautiful young autistic girl named Zen must use her phenomenal fighting skills to take on a local gang, recover her family's money, and save her dying mother.

Turn Left, Turn Right (product link)
Romance / Drama

Another romantic film featuring the ever-talented and beautiful Ms. Gigi Leung and Japanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro. This movie reminds me of two Hollywood films called "One Fine Day" and "Sleepless In Seattle." The two characters seem to miss each other on screen until the end of the film. The movie was well acted and the two main actors spark when their on screen together.

Crying Freeman (product link)
Action/Adventure / Martial Arts

A live action film based on a manga book back in the late 80's which lead to four volumes of an animated series. It's about a famous potter from Japan whose life is turned around in one fateful day during the grand opening of his store. He discovers a roll of film in one of his pots and analyzes it, and what he discovers is horrifying. He then gets tranqualized by a stranger, and once he awakens, his whole life will be changed forever. He becomes an assassin who works for an ancient Chinese underground cult who follows orders to kill his own people (Japanese).

The main star in this movie is Marc Dacascos, who has done films such as "Only The Strong", "Drive", and "Brotherhood Of The Wolf". He is now doing a show on the Food Channel called the "Iron Chef" competition.

A Hong Kong comedy starring the beautiful Miss Gigi Leung and the talented actor Lau Ching Wan. It's about a woman (Gigi Leung) whose family is wealthy and all she does is shop and nothing else. The family then hires a chauffeur (Lau Ching Wan) to pose as a Filipino chauffeur and teach her the lessons of working for a living and how it feels to earn something rather then live the life as a spoiled brat.

The Great Challenge (product link)
Action/Adventure / Martial Arts

Recommended if you enjoy watching "Yamakasi", "Jump Britain" and that one scene from "Casino Royale" (The latest Bond movie) where Bond was chasing the bad guy before reaching the Embassy. This movie has some cool scenes where the actors are using their acrobatic skills in fighting situations.

My Sassy Girl [2001] (product link)
Comedy / Romance

For those of you who enjoy watching foreign films or who collect them, you definitely have to have this film in your collection. An awesome Korean film that was well acted and written and most definitely better than many dramedy (Drama / Comedy) Hollywood films!. I don't want to spoil the plot, but this movie will make you laugh, cry and surprised.

If you don't have a Korean flick in your foreign film collection, I recommend buying this one for your first Korean Film.

The concept for this movie looked great. But unfortunately the script was bad and the editing process of this movie will leave you hanging in the end.

Born To Fight [2004] (product link)
Action/Adventure / Martial Arts

The story is about a group of athletes who are heading to the Olympic games, but before they reach their destination, they first head over to a local village in the boonies to give for charity. Just when the athletes are about to leave on their journey, a small band army terrorizes the villagers as well as the Athletes and that's where the action ignites!. This movie is from the same makers that brought out Tony Jaa's "Ong Bak". The Fight scenes in "Born To Fight" is mindblowing and Entertaining. The Stunts you will see will leave you in awe. This movie is definetly a must have in your martial arts collection!.
