The Brave Archer 3 (see film details)

This movie is the third installment of the Brave Archer series, and in my opinion is the best of the series. This movie to me is very special because of the fact that this is the last time all of the Venoms will be on the screen together. The movie flows a lot better than the previous two and also the fourth installment, but the finale to this film is incredible.

The fighting choreography of Chiang Sheng, Kuo Choi and Lu Feng is at a point in their career where the team is in complete unison. The other two movies made by the venoms in '81 were "Masked Avengers" and "Sword Stained With Royal Blood", and this movie is more of a Venoms film rather than a Fu Sheng vehicle due to the finale.

Cheng Tien Chee really works well with the team and it's a shame he wasn't with the group in more films.

Invincible Shaolin (see film details)

This film to me is the greatest Venoms film ever. Although i now have evry Venoms film,this movie still holds up as the best.Every one of the Venoms gets a chance to shine,but of course this movie should be viewed if anything to witness the incredible Chiang Sheng.Chiang's use of the butterfly pole is incredible.

Although this movie was released and made after the venoms had already split up,there are two venoms represented here. Now chiang sheng has always been my favorite so finding out that ching,lu feng and chien tin chee were in the same movie how could it be bad?

Well it is bad. But i had to see it because i am not going to miss any chance to see chiang sheng on screen. Not a venoms film but its hard to not want to see something that chiang is in. Just be warned.

Five Fighters From Shaolin (see film details)

This film was released in 85' and stars the incredible Chiang Sheng as one of the main fighters. Although at this point the Venoms had gone their separate ways, Chiang Sheng still really shines. The movie is a little tough to watch, and honestly I could care less about anyone else in the film. Chiang's pole work represented in the film is of course the highlight. He has such amazing skill and such an amazing sense of time and rhythm. In my opinion, although I mean no disrespect to the rest of the Venoms, Chiang is without question the most talented. It is hard to believe that he died in '91, I would love to see Chiang, Kuo and Lu still making magic together today.

The Kid With The Golden Arm (see film details)

This of course is a shining gem in the catolog of venoms films. This is the third film to have all six venoms together and just like "invincible shaolin" the entire team get a chance to shine. Although everyone gives a great acting performance here,and all of the fighting choreography is in top notch venoms fashion,this movie to me stands out for one specific reasong.

The fight between lu feng (silver spear) and chiang sheng(short axe) is absolutely amazing. You really get a chance to see what an amazing talent chiang sheng is. And although the choreography in every venoms film is great,this particular fight comes in a close second to what i consider the best venoms fight of all. The fight between chiang sheng and kuo chiu at the end of "invincible shaolin" is unmatched. But this movie is clearly a classic.

Masked Avengers (see film details)

Three venoms films were made in 81'. Sword stained with royal blood,brave archer 3 and this movie. At this point in the venoms career the choreography is so tight and accurate there is only room for complete perfection. The movie moves well,but not a lot of fighting until this wonderful finale. The thing that makes this movie and the other two films of 81' is the finale fight. Chiang sheng in my opinion steals the show once again. And although chiang has always been my inspiration out of the venoms it goes without question that each of these films were made with a high level of respect and quality of martial arts.

Heaven And Hell (see film details)

"Heaven And Hell" is a film that has been said to be very bizarre and very hard to follow. I loved this movie, and for a couple of good reasons. Although there are a couple of different stories going on, it is great to see the Venoms team prior to really becoming the Venoms team. Even the crazy outfits don't ruin the fights scenes with the Venoms. Be on the lookout for Chiang Sheng with the spear that turns into a ring against Lee Yi Min. The sets are a little fake but the nostalgia of such a great team and such a great era of Chang Cheh and Shaw Studios...this movie is not to be missed.
