The American version is one of the great examples of exploitation. Names are changed, stock footage used, roars confused, more stock footage.

The Japanese version is a somber, flawed, but entertaining first sequel to a classic. The American version is a laugh riot of what happens when someone gets overzealous with the scissors.
 

Anyway. The girls are cute. The scenes are well done. And it won't hurt anyone.

It's okay.
 

Most, not all, of the jokes work. The cast is likable--not as gory as other works, but I feel "Bio-Zombie" is more enjoyable than horror-comedies of its ilk. I like this film as much as "Shaun Of The Dead".
 

Now, this film has a great historical quality to some. To others, a curiosity. "Where did this "snuff film" thing come from?" they ask themselves.

But for me, this is a great example of so-bad-it's-good exploitation good time.
 

Lest we forget, "Godzilla: King Of The Monsters" is almost as good. Some very creative work went into making it work for American audiences. It's almost a different movie and tells the same story from another view.

In any case. This is one of my favorite movies--one of the most moving of Kaiju films, and high-water mark for the genre.
