The Mystery Of Chess Boxing [Tai Seng] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is one of my all-time favorite movies. It was one of first kung fu films I saw as a kid. This film made me fall in love with kung fu movies. Great action, good story, nice acting. I really loved it! One of the best kung fu films ever! Ghost-Faced Killer rocks!
A different, engaging and well done plot. I was intrigued by the story. I love watching Chang Yi, he's one the best baddies in kung fu films. However, I could tell this was a little different than most of his bad guy roles. Don Wang was impressive and cool as usual.
The action was top-rate. Excellent ending. I highly recommend this film to ALL fu fans.
Snake In The Monkey's Shadow (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure One of my all-time favorite martial arts flicks. Typical train-and-get-revenge movie, but an excellent array of fighting styles which I love: Monkey, Snake, Drunken, and Dragon--especially the Drunken style, one of my favorites. I love a flick that contains a lot of different style fights. This is another film that I watch frequently.
Shaolin Intruders (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Truly a great martial arts flick. The characters are fun and there's plenty of action and great fight scenes. It has a lot of my favorite stars, such as Phillip Ko, whom I love. I always watch any flick that he appears in, even if it's just a short appearance. He is always fun to watch! There story is very well done also. I watch this one often!!
Contour (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Very good flick, lots of fun and laughs. Doesn't take itself seriously. The acting's not so great, but the fight scenes were terrific.
Killer Clans (product link) Swordplay/Sword(s) / Martial Arts Very, very good film. It has an excellent and intriguing story plus an all-star cast. I really like it a lot. The characters were well written and the fight scenes were terrific. A MUST-HAVE for any martial arts fan!!
Along Comes The Tiger (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is a personal favorite of mine. I saw it a long time ago and have been looking for a clean version for years. Terrific story using a supposedly mute, vengeful young man. This is Wang Tao's best acting performance and he has made a lot of terrific films. The fact that the does not have a lot of dialog, especially between the two main characters, makes it even more powerful. It is one the best of ALL time!!
10 Brothers Of Shaolin (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Very good; lots of action. The story is better than usual also. Lots of stars in this one. The final fight scene is terrific. The last time I saw this it chopped off the last 2-3 minutes, so it drove me crazy!! Glad to finally see it on DVD. I highly recommend this for any martial arts fan.
Showdown At The Cotton Mill (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This is a very good film. A little slow in the middle, but the beginning and ending really kick-ass.
It was great to see Tan Tao Lin and Chi Kwan Chun fight each other, usually they are both good guys. This one of the few films where they appear together. Overall a good flick
Drunken Master / Snake In The Eagle's Shadow [2-Disc Set] (product link) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts Both of these films are classics. The action and story are good. The fight scenes are also classic. It is great to see Jackie Chan at the start of his career. Plus Hwang Jang Lee is always great. He's the best BAD guy in Kung Fu movie history.
Six Heroic Figures (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Surprisingly good! I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but the story was pretty decent and it kept me interested. The fight scenes were terrific.
