Shaolin Intruders (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This movie has a great story and has the excellent Jason Pai Piao as a perfect sidekick to Derek Yee.
Tang Chia constructed these fight scenes that are so over the top, you're not sure when they're going to end. It's the only Shaw movie that I can think of that has so many unbelievable fights.
Unfortunately, I can't give it a 5 star rating because of the excessive wire work. The wire fu is out of control in this flick. It makes crazy fights work, but sometimes it's just insane. It turns the movie into a wuxia style film. However, the Shaw studio at this time (1983) was competing with Golden Harvest and trying to go against big fantasy titles like "Zu".
House Of Traps (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure This really isn't a top-five Venoms movie, but it does have the slickest, tightest choreography, and the coolest thing in a Shaw movie: a house of traps.
That being said, there are mostly mini fights, with the end fight being the only one that is even satisfying. The story is so-so, but since it's a rare flick that has some importance as being the last Venoms film and is now available completely remastered after having fans left to resort to 4th gen VHS copies, pick it up.
Chocolate [2008] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I thought this was a cool flick. This is a movie that you watch specifically for the action. I thought the fights were well done, plentiful, and inventive. I look forward to more movies from this new star.
If "Tom Yum Goong" is going to get 4 or 5 star ratings (and that is one of the worst movies ever, albeit with incredible action), then "Chocolate" is more than deserving.
Fist Of Legend (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure Good movie, but nowhere in the same league as the Venoms, Lau Kar Leung films, "Drunken Master 2" or even Jet's "Shaolin Temple" films or OUATIC 1,2,3 and "Tai Chi Master". Too much wire fu with lackluster mid 90's camerawork similar to other middle of the road fighters. Choreography doesn't flow together.
I've seen this movie on the big screen, watched it about 50 times, and I understand all the craziness surrounding it, but I just don't see it as a 5 star flick.
This was an odd entry at the time, since Jet Li was turning out one crazy wire fu movie after another. Then, in 1994, this thing comes along. The fight choreography is good, but most of it doesn't have enough flair and intricate choreography, since it's a remake of a Bruce Lee film.
The power and skill of Jet Li is evident and it is one of his better flicks, but I enjoyed Jet's work in "Shaolin Temple 3" and "Once Upon a Time in China 2" better.
I can't give it a better rating since it comes down to the choreography, which becomes lackluster, especially during the final fight scene. I'm sure I'll get a lot of people disagreeing with this, but forget the hype and give it an honest look.
Everyone wanted this to be the greatest Jet Li film. I feel unsatisfied after viewing it in the same way that I'm unsatisfied with "Fearless". There's something about the camera angles and the staging of fights that I can't get over.

My friend not only is the choreography outstanding in this film, but the acting from Jet Li and his supporting cast help make this the best remake of a Bruce lee movie ever made!!!
The movie has to be higher than a 3 star rating. It was enjoyable and it does offer great choreography. "Fearless" was great too, a good Jet Li fu outing.
Yeah there is a lot of debate over this film because of it's wire fu. For me I really enjoyed this film, the pacing was fast & intriguing. The choreography was done really well. But everyone has their differences on fu films, especially with this pic.
Sorry, but nope. The choreography here is top-notch, and the fact that it's a remake of a Bruce Lee film has to relevance to the quality of the choreography.
The fight choreography doesn't have enough flair and intricate choreography?!? 360's,540's,butterfly twists, Longfist, Tong Bei, Karate, Boxing. Dude, you need to enroll in a martial arts class of some kind very soon. Extraordinary misconceptions.
Wheels On Meals (product link) Martial Arts / Comedy I absolutely love this movie. It was one of the first Jackie Chan movies I ever saw next to "Armour Of God" and "Jackie Chan's Police Force" (awesome English dubbing). The end fight with Urquidez is what makes this one so sought after.
Fist Of The White Lotus (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure When I think of the "old school", this is the first movie that pops in my head. Gordon Liu was phenomenal in so many movies, but this one takes the cake. It's the original "fight the bad guy, lose, go back and train, fight again, lose, go back and win" movie (at least, there should be more of those films)... There is nothing better than Gordon Liu kicking some ass with Liu Chia-Liang telling him what to do!
Knockabout [3-Movie Set] (product link) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure I always wanted to like this film, but I can never get into it. I don't like watching Beardy play comedy. Yuen Biao, for a first performance, shows some great acrobatics and very good form, but the choreography just isn't as tight as the other stuff that Sammo and Biao did together ("Magnificent Butcher", "Prodigal Son"). Even "Warriors Two" has the Fu in check a little better than this title. Still, there is tons of action, albeit a little bit generic, but the actors...and all the training are too good to pass up.

I hear that a lot from other reviewes that can't really get into this picture. I really enjoyed from start to finish, it had a lot of zany moment but the action was great.
