Not my favorite Takeshi film, but the issue taken on was intriguing and relevant to us all...that of how people deal with love....something we all supposedly want more than anything else in the world. But the film was real, in the sense that people do choose other priorities over love, and make choices about love that might seem to make sense from a practical standpoint, but they don't feel right to the heart....and so they begin the slow process of distancing themselves from their lives and their hearts, as the main character in the film does....what a sad film, but ultimately a very truthful depiction of how many people in the real world deal with love, and great love at that. I guess that's why it wasn't my favorite Takeshi film...I was hoping for a fantasy...I always want people to have the courage to go for the great love so they never die in small pieces over time. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

Aimilar to the American "Michael" with John Travolta, but there is always a feel of innocence with these Hong Kong films that just doesn't exist in American movies. The only thing that seemed quite off to me was that Kelly Chen's character depicted someone who was rather spiritually unevolved...this aspect didn't make sense to me, as she was supposed to be a skilled aromatherapist. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
