 | | | | Blind Fury (see film details) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure
Dutch actor, and total bad-ass, Rutger Hauer performs in this loose interpretation of the Zatoichi legend. I was 12 when I saw this and while it isn't quite as cool as it seemed back then, I am still giving 4 stars for old time's sake (or young time's sake as the case may be). | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | Who does not love this awesome movie! Rutger Hauer as a blind swordsman is priceless. I saw this film was I was kid too- brings a lot of great memories. | JV47842 | | Y | Totally agree. Saw it as a kid, loved it. Not quite as good now, but Rutger Hauer's mischievous charisma steals the show. | Choco |

 | | | | Shogun Assassin Collection [5-Disc Set] (see film details) Action/Adventure / Martial Arts
AnimEigo has done an amazing job with Lone Wolf and Cub! This is the only series I would even consider purchasing dubbed instead of subbed. I bought AnimEigo's "Shogun Assassin" releases as they came out and spent more money than they are charging for the box-set. I don't mind at all though, I got to watch this versions earlier instead of waiting for the full set. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | i reckon lone wolf and cub is the best trilogy of movies out there and i would go as far as saying it's better than the star wars trilogy now thats saying something. | kung fu kid | | Y | Yes, The Shogun Assassin films are great. This is an awesome collection for any Lone Wolf & Cub fans. | JV47842 |

 | | | | Shaolin Challenges Ninja (see film details) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure
The first half is a martial/marital comedy nod to Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew". While William S. would generally wrap up misunderstandings with witty dialog and a happy ending, "Shaolin Challenges Ninja" ("Heroes Of The East") fills the second half of the movie with challenges and beat-downs. The only disappointing fight for me was Gordon's bout with the judo giant. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | This is a must for any fu fan or any Shaw Bro. collector. | JV47842 |

 | | | | Crying Fist (see film details) Action/Adventure / Drama
"Crying Fist" presents a really solid drama about two totally different fuckups (no other word applies) and their search for redemption through a boxing tournament. The two stories remain segregated until the very end. While you know that the two men will eventually meet in the ring, it is never clear who the winner will be. This creates a dramatic tension unlike most boxing movies where you are only presented the “hero’s” story. The acting is great throughout by the entire cast; meaning, in my opinion, that everyone kept up with "Oldboy’s" Choi Min-Sik. The fight cinematography is solid with many long takes of the action (which must have been brutal to film depending on how many takes the actors had to do). This is not a fight film or a martial art movie but if you are in the mood for drama, or just a good movie regardless of genre, you should check this one out. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | | JV47842 |

 | | | | Legend Of A Fighter (see film details) Martial Arts / Action/Adventure
Highly recommended. It was not what I expecting for a Fok Yun Gap (Huo Yuan Chia) movie. That's the trouble with only knowing history through movies. This isn't Bruce Lee or Jet Li's (or even Donnie Yen) Legend. This is Leung Kar Yan and Yuen Wo Ping's movie and it is excellent all around. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | Totally agree! Leung Kar Yan and the underated Yusuaki Kurate make this a great old school feature. | Sgt. T |
